Empire Theatre

Japanese Gardens

  • Located at the University of Southern Queensland the garden were opened in 1989, cover 3ha and are considered one of the largest and most traditionally designed Japanese gardens in Australia
  • Named Ju Raku En roughly translated to mean; to enjoy peace and longevity in a public place.

First Coat

  • Numerous walls on buildings throughout the streets and laneways of the Toowoomba CBD are adorned with amazing examples of street art
  • Many street artists have been commissioned to paint large murals throughout the city and a major week long festival called "First Coat" is held in May each year to celebrate the genre
  • Dates for 2017 First Coat are Friday 19th to Sunday 21st May.

Grand Central Shopping Centre

Cobb & Co Museum

  • Cobb & Co Museum is part of the Queensland Museum and is home to the National Carriage Collection. Museum stages hands-on workshops, hosts tours and includes a Cafe.
  • Collection includes range of vehicles from the horse-drawn era, from farm wagons and delivery carts to the Rolls Royce of Carriages, the landau.

Laurel Bank Park

  • Laurel Bank Park is one of Toowoomba's premier parks and features manicured gardens, mature trees, children's play equipment, barbecue and picnic areas and two croquet lawns and is a must-see destination during the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers in spring
  • Other displays include an all season topiary, scented gardens, spring bulb display, Camellia and maple walk, children's ornament garden, Topiary hedge - Thomas the Tank Engine Train and Peach walk.

Newtown Park & State Rose Garden

  • Park was initially laid out in a pattern intended to mirror the design of the Union Jack. Avenues of trees crossed the park from corner to corner, linking with trees planted around the perimeter
  • The park also contains the State Rose garden which has over 1,500 roses planted and provides a spectacular floral display from Spring through Autumn

  • We stayed two nights in a Garden Room. The room was very clean, quiet and spacious. Included in the room was a queen bed, a two seater sofa, dining table, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board. A sliding door led to an outdoor grassed area with outdoor settings. Each room has covered car parking.
