Crows Nest and Ravensbourne National Park - Rainforests, Birdwatching, Fishing
A 30 minute drive north of Toowoomba brings you to the majestic Crows Nest Falls and The Valley of Diamonds, home to Platypus, Kookaburra, Possums and rare Rock Wallabies. Nearby are Toowoomba's three lakes - offering fishing, waterskiing, sailing or a quiet picnic. Within an hour's drive are Ravensbourne National Park and the Bunya Mountains - spectacular Rainforest Heritage Centres where you can feed the wild Rosellas and watch families of kangaroo grazing. The area is a birdwathers paradise!

Driving North - Antique Shops, Aroma Australis and Grandfather Clocks!
Driving to Crows Nest, take a break 15 miles north of Toowoomba at Highfields Pioneer Village with its vintage cars, blacksmith's shop and famous Black Forest Cuckoo and Grandfather Clock Centre. Aroma Australis, Danish Flower Art, and Herbal Harmonies provide locally extracted armomatherapy oils and dried flowers, while Hampton Court Antiques is a haven for treasure hunters!

Crows Nest Falls and the Valley of Diamonds
The drive north from Toowoomba skirst along the Great Dividing Range, looking East over spectacular spectacular escarpments and valleys. On the road, villages such as Cabarlah (with its superb monthly Sunday Markets), Highfields, Hampton, and Crows Nest offer plenty of opportunities for exploration! Cool and shady, Crows Nest National Park offers glorious bushland walks by rainforest streams: bring your swim togs! Stay on into early evening to watch for the Platypus and Possum that live here.

Bunya Mountains and Wineries
Enjoy a 2 hour drive North West to the Bunya Mountains where ancient Bunya Pines disappear into the mists - offering untouched rainforests and historic logging trails. Arrive early, take your walking shoes for a relaxing hike on groomed trails, to wonder at the ancient rainforests, meet the local wildlife, or enjoy a picnic by one of the many spectacular lookouts that line the escarpment.
